Tell Us What You Think: SSNHA Listening Tour 2008 Online

Northeast Iowa – The Silos & Smokestacks National Heritage Area (SSNHA)
Listening Tour 2008 was a huge success. Thank you to those who were able to
attend one of the facilitated sessions.

For those of you unable to attend one of the sessions, your input and ideas
are still needed in the following areas: Heritage Area visitor center, Heritage Area
boundary, partner site designation process, technical assistance/awareness and
other things we need to know. Contribute your ideas and input online at
www.silosandsmokestacks.org before May 28, 2008. The success of the Heritage
Area lies in the strength of its partners and communities; your feedback is critical in
determining the direction of the Heritage Area.

“The input and support of all of the communities and partners that make up
the Heritage Area is vital to a sustainable future,” commented Don Short, SSNHA
President. “We hope by offering an online component to the tour we will reach those
who were unable to attend one of the sessions.”

Silos & Smokestacks National Heritage Area is one of 37 federally designated
heritage areas in the nation and is an Affiliated Area of the National Park
Service. The Heritage Area covers 37 counties in the northeast quadrant of
Iowa. Interstate 80 borders it on the south and Interstate 35 borders it on the
west. Through a network of sites, programs and events, SSNHA interprets farm life,
agribusiness and rural communities – past and present.
