    Silos & Smokestacks Partners with Hartman Reserve to Offer Spring Break Camp

    Cedar Valley, IA – Silos & Smokestacks National Heritage Area (SSNHA) is partnering with
    Hartman Reserve Nature Center to offer a spring break camp for youth grades 3-5. The
    camp, held March 15-19, will run from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily with an optional overnight stay
    Thursday evening at the UNI Museums. The camp, themed “Museum Madness,” will let
    campers experience a new adventure each day as they visit SSNHA Partner Sites.

    The schedule of events includes:

    Monday, March 15
    Laura Ingalls Wilder Park & Museum, Burr Oak
    Hartman Reserve Nature Center, Cedar Falls

    Tuesday, March 16
    Carl & Mary Koehler History Center, Cedar Rapids
    Cedar Rapids Museum of Art & Grant Wood Studio, Cedar Rapids

    Wednesday, March 17
    University of Iowa Museum of Natural History, Iowa City
    Herbert Hoover Presidential Museum & Historic Site, West Branch

    Thursday, March 18
    Grout Museum District, Waterloo
    Waterloo Center for the Arts, Waterloo
    UNI Museums, Cedar Falls

    Friday, March 19
    National Mississippi River Museum & Aquarium, Dubuque

    The camp is limited to 15 campers so make sure to register early for this exciting opportunity.
    Cost for the camp is $150 which includes the overnight stay at UNI Museums or $130 for day

    Silos & Smokestacks National Heritage Area is one of 49 federally designated heritage areas
    in the nation and is an Affiliated Area of the National Park Service. Through the development
    of a network of sites, programs and events, the Heritage Area’s mission is to interpret farm
    life, agribusiness and rural communities – past and present.
