    Silos & Smokestacks Offers Spring Break Camp

    Cedar Valley, IA – Silos & Smokestacks National Heritage Area (SSNHA) is partnering with Hartman Reserve Nature Center, Cedar Falls, to offer a spring break camp for youth grades 3-7. Camp will be held March18-22 and will run from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Each day will bring an adventure as campers travel to new destinations in the Heritage Area. Activities include; feeding billy goats, roaming with buffalo, touring the State Capitol Building and watching a 4-D movie at the National Mississippi River Museum. Cost for the camp is $145; scholarships are available to help cover the costs of registration. Thank you to the Community Foundation of Northeast Iowa for supporting this program and making financial assistance available to campers.

    The schedule of events includes visits to:

    Monday: Strawberry Hill Farm & Garden, Strawberry Point & Big Spring Trout Fish Hatchery, Elkader

    Tuesday: State Historical Building & State Capitol Building, Des Moines

    Wednesday: Tyden Farm No. 6, Dougherty & Hawkeye Buffalo Ranch, Fredericksburg

    Thursday: Vesterheim Norwegian American Museum & Oneota Co-op, Decorah

    Friday: National Mississippi River Museum & Aquarium, Dubuque
