Silos & Smokestacks Announces New Trustees

Silos and Smokestacks National Heritage Area (SSNHA) is pleased to announce the addition of two new members to the Board of Trustees.  Chris Cox, Dean of Library Services at University of Northern Iowa; and Carolann Jensen, Chief Programs Officer for Iowa Finance Authority (IFA).

“We are pleased to have these new Trustees join us. Regional participation is essential to the success of the Heritage Area.  We look forward their expertise they bring to the Board,” said President Cara Miller.

Cox oversees the UNI Museum as well as a branch of the Instructional Resources and Technology Services Library in the College of Education. He successfully integrated the UNI Museum into Rod Library and led efforts in forming the Central Iowa Collaborative Collections Initiative.

Among her varied responsibilities at IFA, Jensen ensures all programs adhere to State and Federal Laws, Statutes and Rules. She also drafts legislation to forward the agency’s agenda and interprets legislation and its impact on the agency.

The mission of Silos & Smokestacks National Heritage Area is to preserve and tell the story of American agriculture — past, present and future.
