Event Description

The annual Preserve Iowa Summit is the premier statewide conference for professionals and volunteers involved in historic preservation. Participants will have opportunities to learn about a broad range of preservation topics, from historic tax credits to archaeology and more!

Thompson M. Mayes of the National Trust for Historic Preservation will deliver the keynote “Why Old Places Matter.” Other highlights include the Preservation Projects of Merit and Preservation Iowa’s “Preservation at Its Best” awards ceremony, plus an exhibit hall and plenty of networking opportunities.

The summit is coordinated by the Iowa Department of Cultural Affairs’ State Historic Preservation Office, the City of Fort Dodge, the Fort Dodge Historic Preservation Commission and Preservation Iowa. It is funded in part with federal funds from the National Park Service, a division of the U. S. Department of the Interior.
