Long Description
During the Korean War, each fighting division was assigned their own Mobile Army Surgical Hospital. The goal of these MASH units was to reduce permanent injury and death through better treatment on the battlefield. Because of the proximity to the front lines, these units were organized around the possibility of being able to break down and move their location within 6 hours. Since they remained close to the battlefield, they were always ready for action. The units saved many lives and, through ingenuity, significant advancements were made in medicine. Contrary to the popular media culture that MASH units practiced "meatball surgery", the work accomplished by these units was experimental at times but highly successful.
Star Parties will not be held if it is cloudy, so please use your best judgment and check the skies before heading to the park. Maps for Star Parties are available at the Grout Museum. 2010 Star Party is co-hosted by the Grout Museum District and the Blac
