Organizing For Agriculture

Iowa farmers are true survivors, utilizing self-reliance and determination to sustain their way of life. This has often been extremely difficult due to dramatic fluctuations in the market value of the grains and livestock that are their livelihood. Farmers have a history of organizing their strength collectively through groups like the Grange and the farm Bureau. These organizations have enabled farmers to lobby for policies that favor agriculture at the state and federal level, empowering them to influence the price of crops and livestock products.
