Event Description
Join us on August 26th for our History Harvest to celebrate the grand opening of our new exhibit “If Objects Could Talk!” This partnership project between the AAMI and the University of Iowa Library will allow us to teach patrons about preserving their pictures and documents so they stay protected for years to come. Participants will receive a digital copy for themselves while one copy is given to the African American Museum of Iowa. Nancy Kraft, Head of Conservation & Preservation at the University of Iowa Library, will also share information about how to best store your items from 11am until noon with the scanning stations to open immediately after. Help us expand our collection of African American heritage while we help you preserve your precious memories!
