Event Description
The AAMI will be hosting Journey To Freedom – An interactive simulation of the escape from slavery.
Guests will travel back in time to the 1850’s and become a runaway slave traveling on Iowa’s Underground Railroad. On the journey, costumed actors will act as abolitionists, slave catchers, farmers and overseers. They will lead guests through various stations and activities that reflect the struggle and triumph of the escape from slavery.
