Saturday Matinee: Platoon
Event Details
Event Description
On January 27, 1973, the signing of the Paris Peace Accords ended the conflict in Vietnam. This was followed by the withdrawal of the remaining American troops. Now, 40 years later, the movie “Platoon” will be played in the Sullivan Brothers Iowa Veterans Museum. “Platoon” is a harrowingly realistic war film that examines the day-to-day existence of an infantry rifle platoon in Vietnam made up of 30 guys from all walks of life. It is a memorial to every soldier whose innocence was lost in the war-torn jungles of Vietnam.
