Event Description
Immerse yourself in the world of seed with experts from Seed Savers Exchange in this three day workshop at Heritage Farm outside of Decorah, Iowa. This unique educational opportunity will give participants the general knowledge and hands-on skills needed to increase their competence with gardening and agriculture.
Topics covered throughout the weekend will include a history of seed saving, seed sharing and the seed industry; plant anatomy and life cycles; pollination and hand pollination; seed processing, seed storage, seed swapping; and many other concepts related to seed saving. Attendees will build their own seed screens and isolation tents, and leave with the knowledge and tools to save their own seeds and achieve self-sufficiency in the garden.
