Event Description
The Coralville Lake Veterans’ Trail is celebrating its 26th year of honoring veterans of Johson County. Come out and honor all veterans at the Veterans’ Trail Memorial Day Ceremony. We will be honoring 11 local military veterans for going above and beyond the call of duty in time of war. These veterans range from World War II to the current conflict in Afghanistan.
The agenda includes a 21-gun salute, 110 American flags across the top of the dam, a military fly-over (weather permitting), a virtual tour of the trail, a live performance of the National Anthem, and taps played by a bugler.
This event will be held rain or shine. In the event of rain, indoor space will be in ranger building east of the Administrative Office and Visitor Center at the top of the hill at the east end of the dam. Space will be limited if moved indoors.
