This national treasure tells the story of American immigration through the lens of the Norwegian-American experience. Vesterheim’s world-class exhibitions and Heritage Park include farm homes, a black-smith shop, a mill, a Norwegian storehouse (stabbur), and more. The Painter-Bernatz Mill, built in 1851 on its current location, is on the National Register of Historic Places. Each year, the Folk Art School offers diverse classes in Scandinavian folk art. Come for interesting history and amazing art.
