Event Description
Hansen’s Farm Fresh Dairy will again be part of the UNI Local Food Program’s Farm Crawl! The Farm Crawl is a self-guided tour of Cedar Valley farms. The event showcases how local farmers grow your food and manage their farms. You’ll even find fun kids’ activities and local food to buy and cook up for dinner! The event is free and for all ages.
Visitors to Hansen’s Farm Fresh Dairy will begin at our recently completed Tour Center and receive a free cone of our premium ice cream. A light lunch, including pork sandwiches from local producer Carl Blake, will be available. The trolley will take visitors to the farm every 15 minutes. Attendees can take a self-guided tour of the cows, calves, the creamery, the wallabies and the milking parlor. New this year are our kangaroos! Hansen family members and employees will be stationed around the farm to answer questions. Milking time begins at 4 p.m. Children can pet a calf, ride a pedal tractor, get a dairy tattoo, milk a wooden cow and guess how much a hay bale weighs for a prize. Participants can also register for door prizes. All Hansen products will be available for sale and coupons will be available. We look forward to seeing you here!
