Actress Pippa White of One’s Company will present “Far As the Eye Can See” at the Wallace Farm on Sunday, September 17 at 5 pm, just steps away from the 9-acre restored Iowa prairie. The one-act outdoor performance focuses on “the prairie and its people: the early pioneers who crossed it, the later pioneers who settled it, the brave people of the Dust Bowl, and the Native American people who struggled to keep the prairie that once belonged only to them.”
Pippa calls her productions “part theater, part storytelling, part history.” She has crisscrossed the country many times as a professional storyteller, touring to over 30 states. She has received several awards in recognition of her work, including two Individual Artist Fellowship awards from the Nebraska Arts Council.
Tickets for the outdoor performance can be purchased online at //wallace.org/picnic-theater or by calling the Wallace Farm at 641.337.5019. Two ticket options are available: 1) the performance + picnic meal for $25 per person or 2) the performance only at $15 per person. The picnic menu includes:
- Ham & Cheddar Sandwich with Apple Butter spread on Rustic Bread
- Leafy Green Salad with Carrot, Radish, Tomato and Red Wine Vinaigrette
- Apple Crisp
- Bottle of Water
Anyone with a ticket can purchase drinks at the venue. No outside food or drink is permitted. Doors open at 4:30 pm. Bring your own lawn chair as seating is limited. The Wallace Farm is located at 2773 290th Street, Orient.
