Event Description
The 16th annual country school preservation conference will be held at the Iowa Arboretum Conference Center near Madrid, and at the Boone County Historical Society Oct. 9-10. This annual event attracts persons interested in learning more about country school history, building preservation, interpretative programming and new publications dealing with these topics. There will be a discussion of country school stage curtains. On Saturday there will be a tour of preserved country school buildings and lunch at a vineyard.
