Event Description
LOOKING IN is a musical look at what drives us; what makes us human, what makes us laugh, cry, smile, pout, and everything in between. This curated musical experience uses pieces crafted for stage, radio, tv, and film to form an eclectic collection of songs that weave the human story and connect us with one another.
To bring this vision to life, Brucemore recruited local artists Jordan Arnold, Steven James, and Kelsey Madsen.
Though making her Courtyard debut, Jordan Arnold is no stranger to the stage or Brucemore. Having been in numerous musical theatre productions, including starring in last year’s TCR production of Brightstar, Jordan is more than comfortable performing as a character and telling human stories through song.
Another newcomer to the Courtyard stage this year is Steven James. A founding member of the long-running Irish band Wylde Nept, Steven brings the smooth baritone and storytelling traditions of that genre coupled with contemporary musicology and the tones of a mighty accordion. Audiences have an opportunity to see the quintessential band guy transform into a featured storyteller this summer.
Brucemore veteran Kelsey Madsen joins LOOKING IN as the third storyteller. Her ability to connect stories to an audience comes not just in her voice or lyrics but by her simple, gracious presence. For those who have had the pleasure of hearing and seeing her perform before, be ready to expect something unexpected from Kelsey in this show.
Accompanying these storytellers are veterans of the Courtyard Series, Gerard Estella, Lincoln Ginsberg, and Greg Kanz. Expect LOOKING IN to be a great show and a unique way to connect with friends, family, and even the strangers around you.
