Event Description
For the first time in its history, the CRMA is presenting an exhibition of science fiction and fantasy art. Images of space travel, super heroes, and dragons surround visitors as they take in this influential art form rarely seen in art museums. Out of This World celebrates the 40th anniversary of ICON, Iowa’s longest running science fiction and fantasy convention. This three-day gathering brings together more than 500 fans of these related genres each year for a variety of fun and educational programs. This exhibition focuses on the artistic works of ten artists that have been designated “guests of honor” attendees at past ICON conventions and shares this unique art form with the Museum’s regular audience.
