Event Description
Join us for the first of many Woven Words Book Discussions. For our kickoff event, we will be discussing Things Fall Apart by Chinua Achebe in honor of banned books week. This work follows the life of Okonkwo, a leader and local wrestling champion in Umofia—a fictional group of nine villages in Nigeria—and his experiences with British colonialism and Christian missionaries. Things Fall Apart has received numerous criticism for its negative portrayal of colonialism and its consequences.
