Northeast Iowa – Silos & Smokestacks National Heritage Area (SSNHA) will be holding
the workshop “Event Marketing: Get Big Results on a Small Budget” on Tuesday, Dec.
2, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The workshop will be at SSNHA’s Main Office in the
Fowler Building, downtown Waterloo.
From developing your message to utilizing “out of the box” marketing techniques, learn
how to successfully market your event, even on a limited budget. Hear first hand case
studies from community leaders and have your questions answered during a panel
discussion.
“We are proud to be able to offer this workshop. We all need to get better mileage from
our marketing dollars,” commented Don Short, SSNHA President.
Registration is due Nov. 25 and limited to 25 participants. The registration fee is $30 per
person affiliated with a designated SSNHA site and $40 per person for all other

Silos & Smokestacks National Heritage Area is one of 40 federally designated heritage
areas in the nation and is an Affiliated Area of the National Park Service. The Heritage
Area covers 37 counties in the northeast quadrant of Iowa. Interstate 80 borders it on
the south and Interstate 35 borders it on the west. Through a network of sites, programs
and events, SSNHA interprets farm life, agribusiness and rural communities – past and
