Event Description
In 1870, ten years before Greene’s Opera House was opened in downtown Cedar Rapids, Judge George Greene opened the Union Opera House on First Avenue at Second Street NE. The History Center presents a program of entertainment in keeping with what audiences enjoyed during the final decade of Judge Greene’s life. Hosted by History Center Historian Mark Stoffer Hunter with an introduction about the history of the Union Opera House.
