Heartland Acres Agribition Center

Agricultural Innovation on Display – see it today!  Heartland Acres Agribition Center in Independence includes 45,000 square feet of indoor exhibit space, 16 acres of outside exhibit space, along with facility rental areas for weddings, corporate events, training seminars and meetings of all kinds.

Hands-on interactive exhibits are incorporated with colorful and informative displays to excite and educate our visitors on agricultural innovations dating back to the mid 1800’s up to today’s agricultural issues and implements.

A replica of an 1800’s barn features exhibits introducing visitors to the beginnings of Iowa agriculture as well as today’s modern advances. Our machine shed is full of tractors and equipment from days gone by. When available, visitors will also find modern agricultural equipment on campus.  Experience the One Room School House complete with desks, books, and other memorabilia from the early 1900’s. As a bonus, visit the Car Museum and enjoy automobiles showing the evolution from the Horseless carriage to muscle cars from the 1960’s.

The excitement of learning something new is found throughout our exhibits. New in 2015 will be a traveling exhibit called, “Genomics,” on loan from the Grout Museum. This exhibit teaches about food, environment, water and present day agricultural issues affecting all of us.

Visitors from across the globe have enjoyed Heartland Acres Agribition Center and we hope to see you soon too!
