Established by the La Porte City FFA Chapter in 1970, the museum is recognized as the first of its kind in Iowa. Exhibits are located in a renovated 1914 auto and supply store, and in the town’s original Fire Station, which was built in the 1870’s and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Visitors can also explore a restored 1861 log cabin and learn about native prairie plants.
