Locust School, built in 1854 and operated continuously for 108 years, is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The School Committee of the Historical Society was founded in 1965 to preserve and showcase the one-room school experience. School children on field trips and interested visitors learn about the early rural education system and the priority it held in the farming community. Period style clothing is available for interactive tours and photos.
