Event Description
The Effigy Mounds Winter Film Festival is celebrating its 53rd anniversary beginning Saturday, January 9th, 2015. The free film festival has been in existence since January of 1963 and through the years there has been great support from the community. Great-grandparents, grandparents, parents and children have visited the monument and attended the films. The films are shown on Saturday and Sunday at 10:00, 11:00 a.m., 12 noon, 1:00, 2:00, 3:00 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays. There will also be a 1:00 p.m. showing on Monday.
January 16, 17, 18 The Wrath of God – Volcanoes – From the dawn of time to the epic sweep of the twenty first century, from the great conflicts to the inventions that changed the world, this film captures the glory, tragedy, and drama of mankind during the time of volcanoes. An extra special display for this weekend will be of Emma Big Bear baskets by Reverend Terry Landsgarrd.
