Event Description
The three-season home of Lowell and Agnes Walter, Cedar Rock, is one of Frank Lloyd Wright’s unparalleled structures in Iowa. The breath-taking residence and river pavilion is the last remaining boat-house design by Wright. Aligned with its educational mission, the Friends of Cedar Rock (FCR) promotes all activities at the state park, one of which is “An Afternoon with Frank Lloyd Wright”(AFLLW). Each October since 2005, the FCR has asked two authorities to give seminars on Wright’s Prairie-style and Usonain design to broaden our appreciation of Iowa’s architectural heritage. We now wish to broaden our vista to include out-of-state resources. For October 2016, we have asked Jerry Hertzeroth from the Laurent House in Rockford, IL, and Mark Tlachac from Florida Southern College, Lakeland, to participate.
