Event Description
Are you passionate about wildlife conservation? Want to get involved in monitoring our diverse wildlife AND contribute to science at the same time?! Join us for a virtual program where we’ll provide an overview of various citizen science volunteer opportunities you can get involved with in Dubuque and Jackson County!
A representative from Xerces Society for Invertebrate Conservation will be joining to share more information about bee surveying. Heather Wilson, the Midwest Save our Streams Coordinator for the Izaak Walton League of America will also be joining us on zoom. She will give a brief overview of the different water monitoring programs and resources available to volunteers in Iowa.
Citizen science projects include:
- Butterfly & Bee surveys
- Water quality testing
- Bat monitoring
- Bird counts
- Blue bird box monitoring
