Do your shopping at the Winneshiek Farmers Market from 8:00 – 11:00 a.m. in downtown Decorah. Spend the day visiting four Winneshiek County farms. Each farm will offer free tours and samples. See below for the list of farms and tour schedule. Attached is a flyer with schedule, information, and addresses.
1. Winneshiek Wildberry Winery
Winneshiek Wildberry Winery is a Heritage (150 years) Family Farm growing grapes, plums and rhubarb. On your visit you can tour the vineyards and learn about grape growing and wine making. Wine tasting and food available.
Hours: 10:00 am – 5:00 pm
Tour Times: 10:30 am and 3:30 pm
2. Seed Savers Exchange
Join us for farm tours throughout the day and kick your heels up in the evening for an old-time barn dance at 7pm.
Hours: 10:00 am – 9:00 pm
Tour times: 11:00 am, 1 pm, 3 pm
3. Sherlock Shrimp
Come and see Winneshiek County’s first indoor aquaculture farm currently raising Pacific White Shrip and Tilapia using a recirculating system, housed in a former elementary school.
Hours: 12 Noon, 5:00 pm
Tour times: 1:00 pm, 2:00 pm, 3:00 pm, 4:00 pm
4. Iowa’s Dairy Center
Learn about modern dairy farming. On your tour you will see the milking parlor, robotic milkers, cows, calves and more!
Hours: 11:30 am – 4:00 pm
Tour times: Noon and 1:30 pm
