Event Description

Join Lois Reichert, the award-winning cheese maker of Reichert’s Dairy Air, for a workshop learning the principles and practicalities of making a fresh, acid coagulated cheese at home. This will be a hands-on workshop in which each student will take home cheese they have personally made, as well as leaving this workshop with the skills and knowledge to successfully craft fresh cheese at home.  Lois will provide a wealth of information on cheesemaking, gathered over her many years crafting delicious, specialty cheeses with her dairy herd.  For this class, we will be using local milk from Hansen’s Dairy for our cheesemaking.  No need to have your own dairy cow or goat (although please let us know if you do wish to craft cheese with fresh, raw milk, and we will provide guidance!).
