Remember those ever-so-cool 1970s woven wall hangings? They are BACK, but now with a fresh look given by the use of natural fibers and beautiful colorways. Enjoy learning this fun, tranquil, addictive, and gorgeous traditional art form with this workshop –Intro to Weaving: Vintage Inspired Wall Hangings with Cindy Harris.
In this workshop, Cindy a talented weaver with over 25 years of experience, will explain the simple techniques used to create these fun pieces. Cindy enjoys teaches weaving and fiber related classes in the Midwest, and especially enjoys creating wall hangings like these. Each student will create their very own free form woven wall hanging in this very hands-on workshop. We will have all of the supplies and equipment you need, including a very large selection of yarns and roving in dreamy, diverse colors. Make sure you bring lots of imagination for this incredibly fun workshop!
Date: Saturday, January 23rd, 2016
Time: 9:00am -4:00pm (some students may need additional time to finish their weaving, and if so, students are free to drop in on January 24th from 1-3pm
Cost: $66.00 per person (includes course fee of $50.00 and $16.00 materials+tax fee)
Special Notes: If the class minimum is not met, a refund may be issued in lieu of this class offering. You will be alerted shortly after the registration deadline if a refund is being issued. All materials and supplies will be provided in class. In the event of bad weather, our make up date is Sunday, January 24th, 2016. You may bring a bag lunch along, or enjoy a light soup & salad complimentarily provided.
