Event Description

Be introduced to the art of baking authentic sourdough bread at home with the exceptional Vicky Dunn of C’est la V Bakery! Vicky received her culinary training at the French Pastry School in Chicago, where she learned the craft of creating European style breads and pastries. She extended her formal training at King Arthur Flour in Vermont, specifically in the masterful craft of sourdough bread baking. Since 2012, she has been sharing her fine, artisan baked goods with the Cedar Valley through C’est la V Bakery. In this hands-on workshop, you will be introduced to the sourdough bread baking process from start to finish — caring for your starter, mixing, proofing, and shaping, as well as the special baking techniques that develop the pleasing crumb and crackling crust which define authentic sourdough breads. Each student will go home with a fresh loaf of sourdough bread, as well as a starter, so that you can continue to make sourdough bread at home!
