Event Description
The Belmond Area Arts Council will be sponsoring the 6th annual Kites over the Prairie event at the Jenison Meacham Memorial Arts Center north of Belmond on Saturday, June 4. Kites will be available for children to decorate and fly and first 60 children will receive a free kite. Popular children’s lawn games, face painting and an old cook stove demonstration will be held again this year. There will be a shooting and archery gallery organized by Pheasants Forever. While at the Arts Center, visit the museum and see the painting and wire sculpture exhibit by Nancy Solbrig. The festivities will take place from 11-4 and the public is invited to attend this free event. Lunch will be available on the grounds.
