Event Description
Carrie Lane Chapman Catt Girlhood Home is sponsoring a watercolor workshop with Janiece Bergland as the instructor. The subject of the paintings done by participants will be the 150-year-old girlhood home and the prairie nearby.
Janiece Bergland is a long time watercolor artist and educator. Her work has been awarded “Best of Show” and “People’s Choice” at art exhibitions and fairs. In 1999, Bergland was selected as a signature member of the Iowa Watercolor Society, having paintings chosen three times for their annual show. She has done workshops in her medium with arts groups and school students. Also an experienced mural and scene painter for the theater, she received commissions to paint backdrops for college performances, some of which were broadcast on Iowa Public Television.
