Motor Mill, built in 1869, preserves the story of flour milling and wheat production in Northeast Iowa. The mill demonstrates the struggles farmers, businessmen and laborers faced in a remote rural river setting, as well as the challenges faced in the development of a large agri-business. Several outbuildings, land and water trails, and camping to enjoy are located at this historic site in the scenic Turkey River valley.

Hours:

Guided tours of historic Motor Mill are offered each weekend (Memorial Day Weekend-Labor Day weekend) from noon-5pm. Additional tour dates are posted on our website. These guided tours include the 1860's Mill, four related outbuildings, and the Motor town site. Tours have no cost but free will donations are encouraged and appreciated to help with various restoration projects. Tours range in time depending on your touring interests and desires. You can walk outdoors around the mill all year round.

Free-will donations accepted.
