People’s Choice Nomination

Each year, Silos & Smokestacks National Heritage Area (SSNHA) celebrates the best in heritage development by presenting the “People’s Choice Site of the Year”. Voted on by the public, this special honor is presented to only one deserving SSNHA Partner Site.

Do you know a site that deserves to be recognized as the Silos & Smokestacks National Heritage Area People’s Choice “Site of the Year.” Complete a nomination form (click to follow the link) and tell us why in 250 words or less by 5:00 p.m. on March 9. The information you provide in the nomination will be used for promotion and seen by the public. All of the 119 designated Partner Sites are eligible to enter, though we ask that sites who have won the previous year take a one-year moratorium before entering again. Since you are the best advocate for your site, self-nominations are strongly encouraged.

Voting will be open to the public at from March 12-March 16. The top three finalists as of March 23 will be invited as our guests to the Partner Site Annual Training on April 9 at the Indian Creek Nature Center in Cedar Rapids, where the winner will be announced and receive the traveling award for People’s Choice “Site of the Year.”
